If you want to see the performance of any host running vsphere, you need to run esxtop from command line

esxtop

There are several things to look for:

%RDY – this shows the amount of time the vm is waiting for CPU. Anything above 10 is busy.

At the top of the output you can see AVG, the top 2 readings should match roughly, the middle one is saying how much usage the CPU is requesting, the top one is stating how much is provided, If they dont match then the CPUs are contending for usage.
